Lock Drawing Reference

Lock drawing reference. Click insert tab reference panel edit reference. Offline elee tue jul 29 2014 10 32 am. I am looking for a way to keep users from detaching or modifying the attachment settings of a reference to a drawing model.
We have a dynamic view set up in a very specific way and do not want anyone making any changes as they are working accidentally. I want to show you a way to work with photo reference that helps you be inspired by the work but really deviate from the original photograph and still express your own unique voice. An xref is stored in a separate file and needs to be available to be viewed so if you want to bind it you can or send the file along with the drawing referencing it.
In the reference edit dialog box select the specific reference that you want to edit. With xrefs changes made in the referenced drawing are reflected in the current drawing. The x ref is inserted into the drawing on a specific layer whatever layer was active when you inserted it and that is the layer you have to lock.
Any changes to a referenced drawing are. So in short a block reference is looking at something already stored in the drawing no need to bind it. You can lock unlock or break them all at once.
This causes the bom list to fail. You can replace broken sketch relations with sketch relations that do no reference the assembly. Attached xrefs are linked to but not actually inserted in another drawing.
When i open the drawing the part stands as reference only and i can t change this under properties the reference only box i grey. Any suggestions how to solve this problem. Good luck and i hope that helps.
You can break unlock or lock external references by using dynamic reference visualization in the featuremanager design tree. Find from within the current drawing select the reference that you would like to edit. You can lock unlock or break all the references at the same time.
If the object you select in the reference belongs to any nested references all the references available for selection are displayed in the reference edit dialog box. You can insert any drawing file as an external reference or xref in the current drawing. You can select a single item and list all its external references.
I have a new version of the southbrush sessions it s a free 10 day challenge. That s a more advanced move but very helpful. Another reason to lock an inference is to maintain one drawing direction while you reference geometry from another part of the model.
