Drawing tools in ms word. Using the drawing tools in microsoft office is easy. In word 2016 however drawing lines and shapes is problematic unless you draw them on the drawing canvas. Sometimes the only way to select a graphic is by using the selector tool on the drawing toolbar.
Also there is supposed to be a more button to the right side of the style options our help in the shape styles group and i am unable to find this either. Is it making you crazy. Standard formatting drawing customize the drawing toolbar.

I just upgraded from ms word 2000 to ms office 2010. Using word 2000 i could go to the tools menu and turn on the drawing tool bar. The drawing canvas works like a corral to hold lines and shapes.
This provided me with a very simple cad program. This entire toolbar could become a floating window by double clicking on the control bar at the far left end of this toolbar. Select your drawing then click the format tab under drawing tools.
